Introduction
Imaging systems employ pulsed ultrasound or the pulsed Doppler mode. The instrumentation system consists of:
- An electrical signal source to vibrate the crystal
- Piezoelectric crystal (transmits ultrasound)
- A second crystal or the same crystal to receive echoes
- Amplifier
- Display
